Fifth Annual Pub Crawl
March 2006

Immediately upon entering the Cork, it was obvious that the 3rd Gold medal event would be simply getting to the bar for a beer.  The place was packed as veteran pub crawlers anticipated the crowds and flocked there early.

However, the crowds did not prevent the crawlers from having a great time.

Bode reappeared showing off his productive day of collecting medals, while the curling Bronze medalist was still celebrating her impressive showing in the previous gold medal event.
Crawlers began getting creative in place of a formal gold medal event and invented awards of their own, like sashes and beer can medals.
Everyone agreed..thumbs up to the crawl's visit to the Cork.

The torch progressed from the Cork to the KT accompanied by the Pub Crawl security team...
When the torch arrived at the Keswick Tavern, it was just as expected.  The party was in full swing, and the birthday girl was celebrating.
Highly decorated athletes, including the first to arrive on the pub crawl in the Glenside Pub were still standing.
Bode was choking in gold medals as he displayed his highly productive Olympic day.
Ladies were drinking Miller Lite's like champions and the crowd was celebrating.
The KT was quite accomodating as the pub crawlers mixed with the usual Saturday night crowd.
Highly decorated crawlers continued to have a great time, while newcomers to the crawl earned medals by buying the organizer a shot and a beer!  (The Glenside Olympic Committee bylaws do NOT prohibit bribing officials with alcohol).
The twins made their annual appearance, while the GG Brewers bartender re-joined the crawl after serving up great micro-brews next door.
The sash man awarded himself another sash, and Nick the DJ started to get the crowd dancing.
As the Olympic Theme and National Anthem blasted over the speakers, the crowd started singing along.
As expected, the pub crawl draws the hottest girls in Glenside,
and the women offer beer and kisses for the guys.
As the crowd grew crazy, cries for "More Cowbell" could be heard throught the bar.
Nick turned it up a notch, and crawlers started dancing on tables...except for Bode, who was still earning medals to wear around his neck, in a show of determination not seen in Torino.
Non Pub Crawlers attempted to earn medals for boxing, but did not realize that boxing was a Summer Olympic event.
Unfortunately, all good things must end, and the crawlers waved good-bye to the KT and the 2006 pub crawl.
Bode helped ring the 2006 Pub Crawl to a successful close.  To be continued on Saturday, March 3, 2007.  Stay tuned...
