2006 Olympic Pub Crawl  page 2

Fifth Annual Pub Crawl
March 2006

The parade of Athletes left the Blue Comet at 2:00 pm and began the long walk to Plush.  The torchbearer led the way, and kazoos could be heard humming the Olympic theme and National Anthem.  The songs would have been louder, but after 4 hours of crawling, many of the 'athletes' forgot how to use a kazoo.

Upon arriving at Plush, we were greeted with a new Olympic event...the shot luge.  Many crawlers were waiting at Plush for the party to arrive.

Athletes immediatly flocked to the new event and kept the bartender busy pouring shots down the ice block.

Some crawlers took longer to figure out how the ice block worked, and ended up wearing their shots, however, most realized that you actually must be touching the block for it to work properly.

Once the men finished playing with the new toy, the women took their turn.

It wasn't until then did we realize how disgusting it looks when milky shots are poured, however, that didn't stop the crowd from asking for more.

The women then added a degree of difficulty by doing their shots with their eyes closed.

The women's event was then followed by the couples shot event, with many repeat performers.

Couples then led to same sex partners, since we are operating an equal opportunity pub crawl.  Overall, the shot luge was a huge success.
New friends were made, and old friends celebrated the day.

Some crawlers became friendly with objects such as ribbons, while others nominated their buddies for gold medals and pole dances.
The Plush was packed, but it did not stop the crawlers from having a great time.
Some obviously had a greater time than others...

Neighbors reunited to share old stories.
Finally, the second Olympic event was held.  Plush was nice enough to clear their bar for a few minutes while Olympic curling took center stage.  Frozen red, white and blue pucks were slid down the bar into the masking tape button.
Judges helped out by clearing the bar of debris and sweeping for the contestants.
When all was said and done, only one athlete could land inside the button.
Other meadlists gave valiant efforts and were quite proud of their accomplishment.
The party continued and nobody wanted to leave.
Brothers, couples, ...
and friends thoroughly enjoyed the events at Plush...
New friends and old friends alike started making their way to stop #4, The Cork.

As they were leaving, the powers of the pole were too great and many stopped for a pole dance.  Next stop, Cork...
